Liberty Grand Wedding, Toronto, Ontario
Michelle & Aaron's Wedding
Michelle was the Maid of Honour for one of our 2022 brides. We immediately connected and when she reached out a few months later to invite us to document her wedding day we were over the moon. Michelle and Aaron are just good people, their energy and enthusiasm is contagious and makes everyone around them light up. We met for a Pre-wedding photo session at the Beaches in Toronto and they were so connected, so in love, it was a dream. For their wedding, Michelle got ready at her parents home in Toronto, Aaron got ready at The Liberty Grand, the First look took place in the Liberty Grand courtyard, along with the ceremony and cocktail hour. They hosted their reception and dance party in The Governor’s Room at The Liberty Grand.

The bridal preparations took place in Michelle’s family home in Toronto. Michelle chose a team of vendors that all felt like family, her hairstylist has been doing both hers and her mother’s hair for years, the lunch spread was from their favorite family deli. Surrounded by her closest friends and family, the house was full of excited energy and oh so much laughter. Michelle’s look was romantic and playful, her makeup and hair were gorgeous and worked with both her glasses on and off (important for someone who feels the most themselves with their glasses on!).
The grooms’ preparations took place at The Liberty Grand. Aaron’s friends kept him laughing and enjoying the morning as they prepared for the first look. Aaron was dapper in his velvet tuxedo jacket and purple bow tie.
Michelle and Aaron shared an intimate first look in the Liberty Grand courtyard, with their family and friends observing from the second floor terrace. It was important to them that they could have a private moment, while their guests were able to take part from a bit further afield. One of the wonderful aspects of the Liberty Grand is the spaces you can tuck into to both cool off from the summer heat, but also to switch up the look of your portrait session. For Aaron and Michelle we worked in the courtyard, as well as under the second floor terrace, and in the lobby area.
The ceremony took place in the courtyard of The Liberty Grand. The courtyard has beautiful dappled light from the trees and a burbling water fountain. This space can accommodate up for 400 guests. One of the highlights of the ceremony was Michelle’s grandmother, walking down the aisle as Flower Grandma, sprinkling petals and generally being the sweetest presence for the couple.
Michelle at Fab Fete and the Liberty Grand team made some magic and quickly flipped the ceremony space to cocktail hour for the guests to enjoy the light streaming into the courtyard. Michelle and Aaron made their way through their 350 guests, giving big squeezes and toasting the grand celebration.
The dinner and reception took place in The Governor’s Room at the Liberty Grand. Michelle and Aaron kicked off the reception with their first dance and the Hora. The beautiful chaos of the Hora never ceases to amaze me. So much love and fun! Edi Shimonov had everyone entertained throughout the dinner and speeches, then when it was time for Main Event Music, the dance floor was full.
“Al & Pat are the most wholesome, thoughtful, attentive photographers ever. After my friend had them for her wedding, I knew right then & there I would not be able to get married if they could not be my photographers! Looking into any excuse to get to work with them again in the near future!!”
