Royal Hotel Elopement, PEC
Rachel & Jamie's Elopement
This intimate, romantic elopement day at The Royal Hotel was 100% true to Rachel and Jamie, and their sweet growing family. When Rachel reached out to meet and we both suggested the same coffee shop, I knew we had found our people. Sitting in that small cafe, sipping oat lattes, with her baby boy on her knee we started planning a day to represent her and Jamie’s elopement vision. Their vision included their very closest friends and family, good food, good wine and leaning into the aesthetic of The Royal Hotel Picton for their elopement day.

Rachel and Jamie spent a couple nights at The Royal for their Prince Edward County elopement. The evening before they snuck their 5 month out for a quick dip in The Royal’s pool, then snuggled in their robes enjoying the unseasonably warm late-September weather. They opted to get ready together in the Royal Gala Suite on the morning of their Royal Hotel elopement. Alex from Freebird Beauty Hair Co created a beautiful, chic updo that complimented her veil perfectly.
Rachel and Jamie took turns snuggling their son, getting ready, and snacking on the gorgeous lunch spread from Kit Coffee & Croissanterie in Peterborough. Their best friends joined them and had them laughing and reminiscing about their shared history. It was totally chilled and felt like an intimate family gathering.
Rachel and Jamie shared an intimate first look on The Royal Hotel’s private second floor terrace. In the gorgeous September sun they shared a moment, just the two of them. It was quiet, full of tears and bits of laughter, and absolutely beautiful.
We then whisked them off to Sandbanks for a couple’s portrait session. Midweek in the County in September is what wedding photographers’ dreams are made of. The beach was empty and we had the Dunes to ourselves. The sun was enough to warm us, while the wind played with Rachel’s veil and gave us bits of unpredictable prince edward county elopement portrait magic.
Their elopement ceremony took place in the library at The Royal Hotel. This space is a gorgeous, intimate ceremony venue. Reverend Brittany Shannon officiated their emotional ceremony and then guests were invited to cocktail hour on the patio.
The delicious Royal Hotel Elopement dinner was held in The Royal Dining Room. As a definite highlight of the day, the guests shared beautiful wines paired with a three course dinner along with good conversation. To finish off the night, I joined Rachel and Jamie on the patio for an intimate first dance, just the two of them and their favorite song - it was simple perfection.
“Alecia… I am staring at these prints and can’t say thank you enough. They are perfect. You captured the in between moments. The lighting, the emotion… you captured what that day felt like. Thank you”
