This intimate elopement at Compass Rose Suites in Prince Edward County featured classic style, a ceremony in the forest, good food and wine, and a first dance at dusk in the courtyard.
Kaylie and Ryan hosted their intimate, all-inclusive elopement at Compass Rose Suites in Prince Edward County in early September 2022. We knew this elopement was going to be amazing when we met Kaylie and Ryan for their engagement shoot at Sandbanks in June (you can see more of that epic session here). We immediately bonded over ordering one of everything at restaurants and sharing food as a couple. As expected their intimate elopement gathering featured style, good food and wine, lots of family stories and oh so many laughs.
They got ready together in the Owner’s Suite (Zephyr Suite), with gorgeous views over the courtyard. This space is so bright and airy, with plenty of room to get ready with your partner or wedding party. I’d highly recommend taking advantage of the loft tub - it’s my idea of a perfect space!
Kaylie did her own hair and makeup, mimosa in hand, while Ryan got ready and managed the music. They took their time, chatting and laughing and just really enjoying the moment. Their priority was to feel comfortable and present with each other, but they also wanted an epic first look- getting ready together, and getting dressed separately checked all the boxes. Kaylie headed for the Mistral Suite with her mom to get dressed before her and Ryan’s first look.
Kaylie and Ryan’s elegant attire juxtaposed beautifully with the wild courtyard gardens during their private first look. Every direction you turn in this courtyard garden is stunningly beautiful - that is one of the best things about Compass Rose Suites in general, literally every direction is beautiful. They have been so thoughtful in their design and upkeep of the property - it is an absolute dream elopement venue.
Documenting Kaylie’s walk with her dad to the forest ceremony site was one of my favourite moments of their elopement day. They took their time, embracing all the emotion and stayed present with each other - it was perfection.
Karin from Weddings by Karin officiated their intimate forest elopement. Their family looked on with tears in their eyes as they exchanged their vows, then popped their post-ceremony bubbly. Hawley Crescent Catering did an amazing job with their intimate dinner in the Greenhouse.
As Kaylie and Ryan shared their first dance under the stars and the string lights, their family looked on and cheered.
“AL!!! These photos are stunning!!
We’re looking at them again with Ryan’s parents while making breakfast. We are all in love with them! You and Pat are incredible at what you do! All the artistic shots! And capturing our unique modern family… wow! Thank you for being part of our special day” - Kaylie
