With a modern barn venue, a bright and tropical color palette, and the couple in chic, timeless attire—Kayo and Shelique’s Prince Edward County wedding was an epic combination of class and fun.
Full disclosure - we met Kayo and Shelique for drinks at Paris Paris, with the intention of popping in and out of the nooks and crannies of Ossington St. for engagement portraits. Instead we spent two hours chatting all things wedding, life, travel and podcasts. By the time we left the restaurant it was dark outside and our hearts were full. A month later we welcomed Kayo and Shelique to Prince Edward County for their bright, tropical 100 Acre Wood Wedding!
With a modern barn venue, a bright and tropical color palette, and the couple in chic, timeless attire—Kayo and Shelique’s Prince Edward County wedding was an epic combination of class and fun. Set against the wildflower fields and golden sunset, 100 Acre Wood was the perfect setting for their modern, love-filled gathering.
Color-coordinated family outfits, musical performances and plenty of mischievous kids made this early summer evening one to remember.
Shelique and his attendants got ready at Jackson Falls Country Inn. Despite having no electricity (thanks to a county-wide power outage), they were able to get wedding-ready and enjoy a few rounds of pool and connect four. Yes, there was the odd water bottle shower necessary.
Kayo’s family and wedding attendants got ready at The Edward. Thankfully these amazing hosts had generators and were able to power the house for hair, makeup and cold drinks!
Kayo and Shelique danced down the aisle after their ceremony and it was epic!
Good friend and DJ FreezaChin provided entertainment during the reception dinner and dancing - his perfectly chosen accompaniments had everyone in party-mode from the time they entered the tent.
Though I'm not typically one for games - Kayo and Shelique's MCs had them play a treasure hunt game during the reception dinner which had them and all of their guests in stitches.
Kayo's traditional Japanese drum/flute duet with her dad - just amazing.
